Student of the Month, Open House, Social Studies

Zion Hernandez was chosen as our Student of the Month for demonstrating respect in the classroom and in our school. She is a very gregarious and intelligent young student and the possibilities for her future are endless. She demonstrates 'Respect' everyday by being considerate of others feelings and following the 'Golden Rule'. I couldn't be more proud of her.
In the month of October we will be learning about European explorers in History and studying the Classification System in Science. We will finish reading the book, MANIAC MAGEE. In Math, we will master lessons on multiplying and dividing whole numbers and decimals. In Language Arts we will continue practicing spelling, grammar rules, and begin a Reading unit on poetry and bibliographies.
I enjoyed meeting many parents at Open House and look forward to meeting many others in the future. Parents, I am continuing to require students to have assignment books signed everyday so be on the look out for those to come home with your student's homework.
October 26th is the last day of the quarter and report cards will be going home. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. I look forward to a great month of learning.
